Hi my name is Norah and i am part of the CMC youth. This year would be my 6th year being a member of this church. I guess i could say I'm very dedicated in all that i do at this church. I am part of the youth choir and currently in two of the traditional dances we have going on. Through these activities I am able to learn more about myself and my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. CMC has open up many opportunities for me. From to tai kwon doe lessons to piano lessons, the lists goes on. As each year passes by, I am able to figure more things about myself that I haven't taken notice of before. CMC has helped me to do this and I'm a proud member!

Hello, I like to thank you for coming to read this little passage. There's a church called Angsarkhnai Methodist Peace Church in Cambodia that I am concern with. They're consists of poor congregration with much of nothing at all. As you can see from the pictures below, they're having bible study under a house every Sunday for church. When the weather decides to turn ugly, their time for worship has to be cancel. The church was developed by Pastor Sopenh (Cambodia) whom in October 22nd, 1999 received his Diploma of Christian Ministry for his successful completion of three years of academic and field ministry. Pastor Sopenh has been preaching for 3 years now. His church in ThamTra is growing everyday with people coming to hear the gospel. There are 32 families that comes on a regular Sunday basis. And there are 85 children and thanks to Good Shepherd Church and Cambodian Methodist Mission Church; children were able to recieve books, pencils, clothes, noodles. Some children are now studying English. But still its not enough for these children. Nothing is enough, supplies are limited. So please in your heart and prayer, help support this Cambodian church that is wanting to grow. If you have any comments/questions, email mekonnigurl@yahoo.com
or CambodianMissionChurch@yahoo.com Thanks! click on pic to enlarge itI was born in Cambodia in 1983. I don't know much about living in Cambodia because my parents left the country when I was a month old. We stayed at a Thai Refugee Camp for about 3 and a half years. There were a lot of shooting at night. I don't know who was shooting at who. But everyone were running like a herd of animals. My dad held me on his arms, had my sister on his shoulder, and my mom carried my brother as we ran with the crowd. It was a moment to remember. When daytime comes, it was normal in the camp. My mom went out looking for something to do to bring food to the table. My dad taught Khmer class in the camp. I was young to go to school so I always wander in the camp...and I like to cause troubles with adults and other kids. I remember one time when I wanted a head bow to go on my head and so I broke into this girl's house. How I did I do it?.. Well you know the house in the camp is made of thatch and bamboo. It was not very strong so eventually it was so easy to break in. I was wrong for doing that though. :) Anyway, I was Buddhism at the time. My parents would go to the temple to pray and I would have to sit and fold my legs, hands and listen to the monks chanting. It was so boring and so long. There was this one lady who came to my parents and witnessed them about God. My parents agreed to go to church because they provided clothes and food. Also they gave out bibles and so my parents opened and read their bibles once in a while. From there..they have a glimpse understanding of the new God. So my parents started to go to church to find more about this God. Church was fun in the camp. The Lord's people makes it fun to learn about Christ. Missionaries came and helped as well. My parents then became a strong believer and gave their lives to Christ. Until now, my family has been hanging onto Jesus Christ. Christ has helped my family through many difficulties time. Especially taking my sister and I out of Cambodia when we were just infants. It would mean death to some people because trying to cross the border with infants were impossible. The crying and feeding at the same time. It could alarm the communists. And I don't know how my parents did it. All alone it was the Lord Jesus Christ that helped us get through here. When I looked back in my past. I can see that many times I was almost near death. I fell into a deep hole of dirt, I was drop in a swamp(i know it sounds funny), and I was a starve child. Who was it that helped me. It was the Lord Jesus Christ watching and protecting me as I go through this adversity time. I thank the Lord so much and gives many praise and honor to his Glory. From the day when I was born until the time when I was 10 I had not idea who God was. I always knew that there was a supreme someone in the sky from my earlier ideas from cartoons and story books but I never knew God. I was living in Sin. Although I was taught not to steal, use profanity, hate people, and to respect others I never really did it. I did it most of the time but when I was provoked to anger all these things just wasn't around. I have 2 older brothers and one of them was extremely bad in his early teen years and many problems arose because of him (but not to blame him any longer). So bad that we decided to start over. We thought that if we moved and get him away from his bad influencer then he would change. So of we went to North Carolina to stay with my Uncle. At that point things started to change. As soon as we arrive our Uncle took us to his church to meet some new people. And that's when I was first introduces to Christianity. I didn't really have much of an interest then because I was still young and all I wanted to do was play. But later that year two Jehovah Witness came to our door. They told us all about what they believed in so we invited them in. They came regularly to visit us and to have "Bible Study" but at that time we didn't know the difference between Methodists to Baptist to anything as long as JESUS was mention we thought it was all the same. From 1995 until 1997 for about 2 years we lived in our uncle's home. Then one day a problem arose and I can't remember it anymore but my Uncle didn't want to believe in God anymore. And the once welcomed Jehovah Witness was now unwelcome. My family and I still continued to go to church and as time progressed we started to have a way better idea about Christianity. We knew the differences about each church and their different styles. Than later gaining the true "Truth" about the Jehovah Witness.
My family found our own place finally and moved out of my Uncle's home. At this early point my whole family including me truly believed in God. We all lived and went to church as one big happy family. But as Christian we all experience a period of testing and when ours came by (but to make a long story short) only me and my mother believes in God now with profess faith. I don't really know the condition between my brothers and father but I guess God still has as some tiny room in their hearts.
As an update my parents are separated but not divorce and my dad currently resides with a man name Sam Dong and as for me, my second oldest brother and mom. We live together in our permanent home not to far away from our father. As for my oldest brother he's back in Rhode Island with his recent wife and first child with another on the way.
Sincerely,
